Facebook MCP server built for AI agents
No screen capture, no sketchy converter sites: ask your assistant for a Facebook video, reel or watch link, and snapFB MCP brings back the file
How snapFB MCP handles a Facebook link
Pass it a link to a Facebook post, reel or watch page and get back direct video URLs in each quality and format on offer.
-
Download Facebook videos
Paste the address of a public post that holds a video; the agent replies with a direct link for every quality and format.
-
Save Facebook reels
Reels are covered as well — share the reel link and get files you can keep at once.
-
Grab videos from watch links
Links to facebook.com/watch pages and short fb.watch addresses resolve to the same video file.
Ask any MCP client to download Facebook videos and reels
The same tool works in chat apps, in code editors and in your own scripts — wherever MCP is supported.

Done — I found HD and SD versions of the reel, each as an MP4 you can download.

Common questions
What people usually ask about getting Facebook videos via an AI assistant.
-
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that links AI assistants with outside tools and data sources. A server exposes tools, and the assistant chooses when to use them.
-
Every MCP-capable client. The setup guides above walk through ChatGPT and Claude — web, desktop app and Claude Code — and a universal config covers the rest.
-
No. snapFB MCP only handles public Facebook videos; anything posted privately or shared with friends only cannot be fetched.
-
In a chat where snapFB is turned on, ask the assistant for a payment link and it will send you one. There is no checkout page on this site.
